Hello, I've started work on my GT1, and I need advice on the windshield. The original windshield was held in place with a gasket that leaked.
When it is time to put it back in should I try again with a gasket? Or should I just glue it in and put Corvette trim around it? I would probably need to make the lip wider to hold the glass in place, but, that's not a problem.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Ed

I would go with an old fashioned gasket. Bradleys are not known for being waterproof in any manner, whether its windshields or plexiglass doors. I just hand wash the body and spray by hand the glass and upper framework using soapy water in a spray bottle. I have no idea whether the glue used for windshields these days will adhear to the fiberglass like it does to metal.

It will stick to fiberglass but NOT GELL COAT. Would have to sand the gell coat off inside the frame sides & lip.

Thanks for the input. There's no gelcoat left on this car. It was brown metalic at one time, when I got it, it looks black. Everything will need to be painted anyway.
I will post build up and pics as soon as I can. Ed

Opening will be too big for the glass without the rubber.
