Hi everybody, my name is Sam and i just bought a GT2. the car is mostly in tact, engine wrecked so i have to rebuild that... But the engine is easy. My dad's been doing engines for years on formula vee's so i have lots of help on that side. What foreign to us is the body and the fiberglass.
Here's my dilemma; for some reason a previous owner decided to hack up the doors. they cut off the piece below the vertical windows and bolted them in place and took off the top half of the door. now i have the bottom sections, the top sections (containing the moon roofs), and the windows, but i dont have the upright pieces of fiberglass that hold the whole mess together. Dad says there are ways to make new fiberglass and connect the pieces and re-fab the doors but i have no idea where to start. personally i'd rather find replacement doors (don't we all want the easy way out?) but that's proved very difficult so far.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Sam

Ok so my doors came in yesterday and they look pretty good. However, they were never installed in a car, i think they're in the same shape as they'd be when you buy them in the kit. The holes for the door latches and sunroof panels were never drilled and such. Can anyone give me any tips to trimming the extra and drilling to make sure i get a good fit?
Thanks, Sam

Before trying to fit them make sure your butt is not sagging . Do a search on the subject and you can find info on how to determine if you have it . Cheers,
