I'm really new to Bradley. I first saw my car on CL a year ago in November but the guy selling it didn't have a title. A couple months ago the guy called me and asked if I was still interested, and that he had the title issue resolved, so I said yes. In the 2 weeks I've had it, I've had to learn a ton, never owning a VW, it's been a whole new experience. Right off the bat, it hasn't run for maybe 15 years, there were alignment issues all over the place. Doors won't close, headlights won't go up, no brakes, no parking brake, no turn signals, half the buttons are missing, half the wires are bare and without switches. In under 2 weeks, I've replaced all the brake lines due to major rust (it's been awful), relocated the Reservoir, replaced almost every freakin rubber hose OMG! I got it running 6 pints of blood later, oil change, plugs, wires, new carburetor, filters, new oil gaskets, and between Youtube and you, I'm getting the hang of this. Questions: Is there a downloadable Bradley manual, parts list, assembly book, anything? Where are the bolts that connect the kit to the frame? Is there a manufacturers plate on the car somewhere? Year, make, model....? WHAT ARE THE BRADLEY PARTS THAT ARE STILL READILY AVAILABLE? (Excluding VW)... Example: Lights, hinges, seals The keychain says "1967 Bradley GT II "Fiber Jet"... I've googled it and have no idea what Fiber Jet means.... Anybody?

Jeff Troy's CD is the way to go with the manual. The bolts run along the outside of the frame underneath. The vin number of the VW is under the carpet, on the hump, in the back just in front of the inspection hole in the back seat. The bradley part of the question, is comparing what you have to others to find when it was made. Sometimes the plate is installed under the fender, under the dash or not at all, depending on what the builder decided to do. I hope you have a good windshield, as it is impossible to obtain a new one without buying a car with it in. Do a search and see what folks are saying about getting a batch run. The rest of the parts are where ever you can find them. I am not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but at least this is a start until others give you more info.

I knew about the windshield problem before I even got the car. I have good glass. I should clarify the bolt question. Is it ONLY held to the frame from the bolts on the side or are there bolts holding it from the front and back as well? I'm going to ad braces and need to lift it just enough but I'm not big on surprises. How do I get that cd? Models were so much easier when I was a kid. Who needs instructions. I have glue.

Search for Jeff Troy on this site and then send him a personal message. He travels alot but will get back to you. And don't worry about sending him money. He is a straight shooter.
Don't forget...these are home built kits. I have seen kits with 4 bolts and some with 24 bolts holding the body on. You just need to go around the perimeter of the body (on the inside) and make sure you get them all. No one here can tell you how many bolts your individual assembler installed.
Most parts (other than body and windshield) are not Bradley specific so its hard to say "go here for Bradley parts". When you need something specific post it and people will chime in on the best resources.
And I will repeat by same old pitch....gut the wiring and do it right. It will crap out on you, you will chase gremlins forever, and you will then park the Bradley and it will sit until you sell it.

There are definately Gremlins. The wiring is chaos like a 6th grade science project. I don't know about starting from scratch, but tracing headlight wires... Into the power antenna? REALLY? Something started buzzing and the horn started freaking out... I HAVE A HORN? Where are those wires?

Hi, Newbe,
Removing the body isn't all that difficult. For the most part, you can just follow the body-on installation in the manual IN REVERSE. You'll just have to be on the alert for extra wiring or hardware that a previous owner may have installed. When you and your friends lift the shell, go slowly, and if you feel any resistance whatsoever, stop lifting and find out what's still connected.
Here is the information about my Bradley CDs: The Bradley GT and GTII CDs hold files of the original assembly and wiring manuals, as well as any official updates. The GT CD also holds roughly 36 years and 645 thousand actual miles worth of useful information.
Ordering is easy. Just send $35 through PayPal to jefftroy@aol.com , or you can send $35 by check or money order to:
Jeff Troy 759 New Holland Ave. Lancaster PA 17602
Be sure to state whether you need the GT or the GTII CD. The cars -- and the manuals -- are very different.
The advantage of the CD over an original printed manual is that you can take the pages out to shop and not have to worry about dogging them with oil, grease or other shop debris. If you ruin a page, you can just print another.
One of my CDs just may be the best money you can spend on your car. I'm sure that anyone who has it -- and most owners do -- will tell you that it's extremely helpful.

So what about "Fiber Jet"? Does that actually mean anything in the Bradley world, like 1 of 10 ever made, or is that just a nickname some dealership called it? Is this a Bradley gt2 Fiber Jet, or just a normal everyday Bradley gt2?

If you are curious about is lineage I can't help you.
If you want to know to see if its worth more I can assure you that it makes no difference in value.

I'm only trying to figure out what fiber jet means. It's on the dealership key chain. Maybe it's nothing, maybe it's a prototype. If it has no significant meaning, then that's all right. But if it's like the Pontiac Banshee of Bradley, I would like to know

Hi, Buds,
I can't say for sure what Fiber Jet is, but Bradley offered dealer accounts to almost everyone the company reps spoke with about buying a car kit. You would get a discount if Bradley could have potential customers see your car to inspire them to buy. If you sold a car kit on the company's behalf, you were supposed to get a commission.
Home Depot, Lowe's and the local hardware store sell 3M Tape and Titebond glue. Grocery and convenience stores sell Bryers ice cream and Ballpark franks. Those are a few obvious examples of dealers that sell other companies' products. I don't see why Fiber Jet couldn't be an independent dealer who sold Bradley's products. That would easily explain the key chain and most anything else.
Warmest...

Fiber Jet Industries was a kit-car/ Dune Buggy builder. They may have been hired to build some of the bodies at one time.

Very nice find! You got mad props on that one. It kind of makes sense now, that either Bradley and Fiber Jet worked together on this or that my gt2 is clearly mis- represented as a Fiber Jet when it is not. Either way, it's a great ad and gives me something to think about. This goes to show that you can't google everything. Thank you.
