I have decided on a very strange project for my second GT 2 I am building a custom frame and converting it to a front engine Chevy 4.3 with auto trans and Power Rack & Pinion with I hope an IRS rear end, Power four wheel disc brakes, Air and last but not least a Trunk. I will post pic's as the project progresses.

Dean,
I'll be very interested in your project as I have a GTII and want to mount an engine in the front. Do you know of any cars with frames that would work without making a custom frame. I live in Thailand and to register the car I need a serial number from the frame.

Well I just started my project I decided to build a custom front engine pan using the front cradle and rear end out of an Chevy S10 (the only one that fit) with a custom tubular frame so I did manage to get 4 wheel disc brakes and power rack and pinion so far. I am going to use a 4.3 with a turbo 350 short tail auto trans. I will be posting pics as I get it fitted to the body and welded together.

Looks good so far. What size tubing are those side rails? Are you going to put an X member in the center of the chassis? Having built a few hot rods I would worry about the frame twisting especially if the rear is limited slip.

Awesome project! I have a project going now with an SHO motor going into the back of my GT. Weird though everyone crapped on me for being crazy and saying it wont work. But I believe with the right skill the sky is the limit. Good luck on your project.
