Hey Guys,
I have another question. This one pertains to the 5/16 bolts that hold the shaft bearings to the bulkhead. In addition to the normal nuts and washers that are used to secure the unit is a section of rubber, u shaped, that fits around the bearing holders, and which the bolts go through.
Any one know what this piece of rubber is, it's purpose, is it needed(as mine are dry rotted), and is there some type of replacement.

My GTII does not have rubber on either side of the bearing. I could see putting a piece on the inside of the fender bulkhead to keep water out, but there shoud not be much water in that area anyway. Greg Attachments:
