I think he would be referring to your use of OK (abreviation for Okalahoma) rather than okay when referring to the Oklahoma. From your response, it may not have been intentional.

Yes, from what I remember the term OK started during some presidential election where the candidate used OK in his slogan referring to Oklahoma, but I could be wrong. I hope everyone is OK, too.

Not intended, That is the Canadian spelling of Okay.
