Hi everyone, I am both new to this board as well to Bradleys. I am in the market for a project /fun car and came across a totally gorgeous car that I had no idea what was, and come to find out it was a Bradley GT. I found this car on craigslist from the pictures it looks great, but I have yet to see it in real life. I plan on going to see it this weekend and wanted to find out if there were some specific things that I should look for and take note of? I also wanted to find out what it would take to install either a rag top roof or possibly going all the way with the fiberglass t-top, gull wing doors and rear windshield?
The seller is asking $2750 for it but was open to offers. Please feel free to tell me what you think of the price and if it is reasonable. That is if I can get the pictures up.
Oh and if someone is willing to tell me how to post the images of the car I would be more than grateful.

the easiest way for us to see pics is for u to paste the craigslist link. If it looks great and runs good, that sounds like a good deal. It will be a big plus for u if the car is currenlty tagged. I didnt have this problem, but I've heard it can be a pain getting them registered if they aren't currently in some states.
I'll give u my opinion on the top when I see what your working with.
good luck!

$2750 is probably twice what it is worth.
Send the link to us so we can get a tiny bit of a better idea of the thing.

Looks like he cout the roof section off because he couldn't find a rear window or gull doors (thats my guess at least). I don't know how that effects the rigidity of the body. If he did not reinforce the windshield posts I bet it shakes alot. Engine looks pretty stock and not well detailed (single carb, stock pulley, etc). I also see lots of wiring hanging down. Thats one thing I would check...the wiring. Look under the dash. It should look like this (the level of neatness): And NOT like this: To me thats about a $2000 Bradley. I don't see any heater boxes so no heat or defrost. Clearly a nice weather car (think motorcycle weather)

There's no engine cover so I wonder where the license tags get hung.

For what its worth a new pair of doors and a rear window is $780 plus shipping from Sun-ray. Then you have to find the missing roof section. It would probably be easier to find a whole top including windshield frame. A ragtop could certainly be made but how could you get in the car with the top up? I suppose you could do a limbo kind of entry through a door/window but how low can you go? LOL

It is a nice looking Brad, jspbtown and smirnaguy have a lot of good points to be consider. The best judgment will be after a detailed inspection and a test drive; do not forget about the current vehicle registration and ownership documents on hand. This vehicles do drive like a go-kart, be aware. 18 to 2k will be the max I will paid with an old engine.

i think some are being a little too hard on this car.
i mean when u ask what is the car worth, only the buyer can really answer that question. while i agree this car has a couple of issues, the buyer has said "gorgeous" and "pictures look great" so he likes it. we all know its certainly worth more than a grand, but less than 4k. thats a lot of wiggle room. is it worth $1500 or $2500? all i'm trying to say is that while we dont want someone to get "ripped off" we also dont want to discourage the guy from getting a cool car!
the cool thing about bradleys is that they ARE kit cars, you make them to be what you want. i've seen some that i personally thought were total crap, but the owner was very happy with it, so i say if you like the car, go for it.
my response to your questions would be to look for and take note of the chassis, is it rusty or solid. if rusty, you may have to take the body off, which many have done. i personally think the IRS ('69 and up) is more modern in design. is it roadworthy. if not, what has to be done to get it on the road.
as for the top, maybe you keep it open. if not, you can certainly find a parts car to get the t-top. windshield is from a vette, other windows are VERY hard to find. but you can fabricate other methods, or just keep it as a t-top and make it a summer car.
evaluate what the car NEEDS, then evaluate what you WANT to do to the car. TONS of info on this site, LOTS of experienced people to help. best of luck. hope you get the car....

Thank you all very much for all of the information. When I go look at it I will be sure to take into account all that has been mentioned. I had not thought about the registration so I will definitely be sure to be clear on that. Oh and when I talked to him he did mention that he had never done anything to the engine and that he had the back plate where the license plate hangs but it was just not in the picture. The throttle cable had just broken and he would have it replaced before I drove it.

Compliments to jspbtown on his wiring, I wished mine looked that good. In reality, VERY few bradley owners wiring looks that good. Just make sure everything works, lights, turn signals, etc.. $2K
