Hey gang, just wanted to drop by and introduce myself, and give what I hope is a unique story for a Bradley.
I'm a car guy through and through. Have owned quite the variety of cars over the years, also recently got into LeMons racing. One of my other hobbies is my outdoor (and indoor) Christmas display. My wife and I have built it up over the years, and now we're at the point where our outdoor display is rather large. Last year, we had lights dancing to music broadcast on FM radio. I'm still quite the novice at programming the dancing lights, but I'm learning.
For my 2013 display, I have a goal to incorporate my love for cars into my display...you can see where this is going, huh? ;D Actually, my first choice was a big old truck from the '10s - 40's. I was going to turn it into a giant sleigh. I found a truck at a great price, but backed out last minute over discussions with the wife that went "So, where do you plan to park this beast the other 10.5 months of the year??".
Enter the Bradley. I saw this beauty on Craigslist. It was sitting in a backyard, along with a few dozen other vehicle remains. Owner was trying to clear the property. He had been asking $500 for it, but had no bites. He said if I didn't buy it, he would just haul it to the crusher. He agreed to take $200 for it, and I jumped on it.
So what's my plan?? Well, I've always thought the Bradley was cool and poked around over the years about buying a running/driving one (haven't ruled that out yet). To me, the car looks a lot like a Hot Wheels car. So when I saw this one for sale, it set off all kinds of ideas. My plan is to give it a shiny/glittery paint job, just like a Hot Wheels car. I may even put LEDs in the headlights and taillights. Then I'm going to make it look just like a Hot Wheels car in it's original package. I'm thinking I'll make a box with plexiglass (??) walls, and pick up some sheets of sign material to make the backing. I'll then put a bow on it and have a giant blow up Santa stand next to it, as if it was a present he was giving.
So, that's the long winded story of a Bradley being saved from destruction. As you can see, this one isn't in the greatest of shapes to begin with, but I'm happy to have rescued it. If I'm right, it's a GT 1, yes? Any way to tell what year it was made?
