Just got a Bradley gt 2 in Tampa. Not my 1st classic vw but my 1st bradley. Its got some butt sag issues as the doors are far from lining up. I have read as much as I could to remedy the problem but it sounds like it might be out of my capabilities of fixing. Any advice? It seems the easiest solution is to remove the doors permanently but will not fixing the sag cause any long term issues with the rest of the body? Or any Florida pros that could fix the sagging issue for me, estimated labor costs?
Thanks for your time and help. I look forward to being a Bradley enthusiast with the rest of you

Butt sag is best fixed over time. You are lucky that you are in Florida, lots of hot sun. Put a wooden beam under the bulkheads that go to the rear of the body. Jack the body up slightly and let the thing sit in the hot sun for a few days, remove the jack and see if it has gone up at all. if it has do it again until the body holds it's proper height. When it does add braces to stop it from coming down again. Covering the body with a black tarp will help.

Hmm... so the fiberglass body can sag and be heated back into position. Then braced after it is level again. I looked at a Bradley GT 2 for sale in Nuevo, CA. Owner is dreaming, $4,500 and it has really bad butt sag. The motor is a bit worn out, the gearing is so low that it barely does 45mph. The body is OK and interior OK. Gauges need some work and under dash wiring is not great. I will tell the guy about how to fix the butt sag... inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/3697890019.html

My Butt Sag device was inherited when I bought the car. It's a metal brace that attaches to the tranny supports with a U brackets. It definitely helps to control the butt sag. When I lifted my body three inches, I added a three inch block to each the ends. Not sure if the picture will post but if you look closely under the electric motor and tranny you can see it. Sorry, I don't have a better pict. 1.bp.blogspot.com/-HSvYGhZRATQ/T2-qIW-tz3I/AAAAAAAAAXA/IsiUNAf8RuI/s1600/Import_006.JPGMatt
