!!!My intention for this thread is NOT to setup a race!!! So this evening my cousin and I got some McFlurries and drove around town to look at Christmas lights. Sounds like an OK event, but even better when I get to drive us around in my Bradley GT II Approaching one intersection a little ricer Honda pulled off to the left of me to turn. As he was passing me by he had his car in neutral and continued to rev up his engine while looking over at me, haha. A littler bit later that night a really nice modern Porsche passed me by. At the next street light we were both first in the two lanes available. Upon the light turning green, I paused hoping to see the Porsche gun it to try and outdo me, but he didn't. He continued to wait until I took off and then he gunned it, obviously going much faster than my 68 beetle engine. What experiences have you guys had with people trying to "race" you on the street based off the sexy looks of the Bradley GT II (or GT)? If only these people knew what the stock engine for the cars are

The ricer revved his engine as he was unsure of the results and wanted a challenge. The Porche driver knew the results so there was no need to challenge you. When the light turned green he just reinforced the point.
I have had a few guys try to take me on, usually the ricer crowd, but I refuse to go all out. Costs too much in the long run, and too dangerous out on the streets. I will let loose from a stop to prove the point but do not break the speed limit. As I back off they pass me. Good enough for me. I figure that if a cop is around, the competition will get busted.

I've had several people try racing me on my way home from work during the summer... First let me say I work in a college town and I have to drive by campus where spoiled babies during summer were runnin NEW Challengers, Cameros, Mustangs, GT-Rs, Vettes, Eclipses., even a Viper.. you name it, they had it. The funny thing is nearly EVERYONE that tried to race me got pulled over by Campus or city DPS and the cops were checking my car out, but never had a reason to pull me over. Now, if they ever ran my plate and saw its a Historical plate then they would. Thank goodness Michigan just changed the look and coloration of the Historic Plates to look like regular yearly plates.
