I just got my first GT and had to put it in the shop for a complete top engine rebuild 😣 but it'll be out Monday so I was seeing if anyone in the area wants to get together and show our cars off!!!

What all do you need to do? I'm probably going to be painting mine this week! At the moment my car looks like a captain America or evil Knievil car!

It needs some brake work and it has an ongoing motor problem.

Good Luck Deadmand, The Master cylinder is a major pain unless you've done it before. you may want to pull either the passenger or drivers seat, or both for better access...

Yes it does have an oversized cooler. The motor does not over heat. I have had two places look at it with no success. It will run perfect and usually will run a long time but as soon as you shut it off it will not restart. As soon as it cools down for an hour or so to outside temp it starts right back up and runs fine. Very frustrating! Eric

Eric you should move this post over to the general column of the board you'll get more feedback there.
It sounds to me like you should trace your fuel line and see if it's getting heated up from any part of the engine or exhaust.
Or maybe it's setting up some kind of bubble-lock situation similar to vapor lock. It's a bigger problem in warm climates with that kind of thing.
Did you try spraying some starter fluid through the carb when it gets to the won't start stage?
do you have any kind of baffle or separation between the hot part of the engine (lower- exhausts & manifold) and the upper part where the fuel and carb(s) are?

I have posted the issue a few times. The fuel line is clear of all heat sources. I have tried starter fluid and no go which leads me to think it might be an electrical issue. I do not have a baffle between top and bottom. The odd thing is that for 30K miles with the same exact configuration there was never an issue. I have replaced the coil and the dist. Cap, rotor and plugs. It sounds like it has good compression when it won't start. It sounds like there is no fire. Eric

Eric, I had my Baha bug do exactly the same thing when I put a stock engine in it to sell (put the old built-up engine out of it in my Bradley). I finally solved the problem by replacing the carb. I had already tried kitting the old carb. Replaced it with a Brazilian 34. It solved the problem, it ran great then. I do not know if you have a stock carb or aftermarket, or if the problem is the same, but that was my experience. Warmest Regards.... Steven
