Check ACE Hardware Store if you have one

Skip,
Yeah, I tried Ace as well as all the other hardware type outlets in the general area. No luck
However, I did find ( at Carquest ) something I think will work. It is a rubber sleeve with a threaded brass section in the end, cut off the threaded section and add a hard rubber washer to the base, and you have a copy of the grommet.
Thanks for the reply
Larry

Larry9j don't forget that when you will be taking the windows out ( for driving in nice weather ) you'll be pushing the bolts in and out lots of times through those grommets so they have to be able to take the abuse.
I have stainless steel carriage bolts on mine and I unscrew the knurled nut almost to the end of the bolt and then push up on it to get it out far enough to get a grip on the top of the bolt and pull it out all the way.
I find that no matter how careful I am with them I always loose or misplace one so I keep a few extras in a pocket by the armrest.

I switched to a combination carriage/allen head kind of bolt for both the door windows and rear window. My rear window carriage bolts were so badly rusted I had to cut them and create a standard screw driver slot to replace them. Some broke in the process.
I remember seeing where someone had replaced their door top windows hardware with the old style sunroof hardware, that way you could open the tops without having to take them off. I wonder where they got the hardware from?

Hey "Horen2tas," would you mind providing some pictures of your top window setup? First my weather stripping wasn't sealing, so i put a bead of sealant around the windows for the winter. Now, it's nicer out, I popped my windows out and broke a corner off of one in the process I am definitely looking for a better mounting method and any input on getting my weather stripping to seal. I have the original weather stripping installed, so it is a little dry but still very plyable. Did anyone need to go buy some new larger weather stripping for their GT II?

So far my idea for a good top window is this: Glass over the holes for the 4 bolts on the top windows. Cut the head off the bolts and glue 4 heads in each window where they originally were designed to go. Getting rid of the original weather stripping and using some thick spongy weather stripping, only on the door frame, like this: Then have something connected to the front of the window that will hook it onto the door and a latch of some sort on the back of the window to clamp it down, this like: Possibly even two latches for a more secure fit. I would really appreciate any input on this idea, flaws, improvements, concerns, anything. Thanks guys. (These windows are really giving me trouble right now!)
