As some have completed their Bradleys and some are nearing completion, what are your future plans? I have decided I want to do a Fortvac Bernardi. A very limmited Canadian made DOT approved variation of the Sterling/Cimbria. Here is a sample in this case a GM 5.7L mated to an older Oldsmobile Toronado transaxle. The biggest problem is finding one. Rumor is less than 20 were made, Fact is only 3 were definitely produced.

It's worth the search nice looking car . Doing a replica using a Cimbria as a base might be fun as well .

Yes it would as the Fortvac is a stretched and widened version with a full tube chassis. Have looked into Sterling products and they offer a custom tube rolling chassis for mid eng Subaru wrx. Price isn't that bad. $20,000 for a new sterling less power train.

Early Sterlings (produced by California Component Cars) were well made. The glass was thick and those canopy roofs were HEAVY!
I passed on a Cimbria a few years back. It was solid but the whole inner front end was cut out...likely for a radiator. The timing was just wrong for me.
As for the future...I will finish my Deserter over the winter (paint very soon) and then move onto my Heartland Manx SR.
After that...maybe another clients car, likely a buggy. My full sized cars days are over I think. Maybe I will just clean out my garage.

That's another one I wish I could find up here. Always liked the deserter. I have pretty much every pic ever posted of Mike's ride

The new sterling with cad tube mid engine chassis is selling for $20,000. What range will the Fortvac be in. Is it being sold as the original using the original design chassis. Will it still have dot approval? Do you have a website, pictures and info?

We are working on the web site, I have hundreds of photos and more to come. After this years car shows we plan to pull the car apart for restoration. We are not sure about cost yet as we need to figure the cost of parts out. We also plan on having the chassis redesigned and updated. We also want to make some changes to the car to make it more drivable. If you like you can take a look at www.fortvaccorrvette.com but nothing about the fortvac car there. If you have any ideas for improvements I'm open to input. As for DOT we plan to build a limited production run so they will be registered and titled under the state of Delaware, so once that's done they can be titled in any state. If you want more info feel free to email me at Robert.welsh@fortvacaautomotive.com

Easiest way if you're interested is fill out the "ask seller a question" request some will tell you straight out and others will say bid on it and find out. I will give the reserve to anyone who writes to me when I'm selling on ebay but some have a stick up their a_ _!
He's also selling a Triumph Spitfire that looks really clean, my guess on the Fortvac would be about $6,000
