Like the title says, we need more people with the power to remove certain users. we have been hit again by an unauthorized user. I have sent Kyle requests with no replies. Does anyone know him, can you pass the message on to him.

I agree, "need more people with the power to remove certain users". The GoldWing forum I'm on, has about 4-5 old timers on there to help keep it clean. I vote for Dan MacMillan as he is on here a lot & can keep an eye on things.

I will gladly do it if Kyle approves. Any objections?

Yes...The first one that needs to go is this Timberline Boot person..I for one would never buy their product because of their arrogance of invading this great forum..with their trash ads... bobevans

I think allowing Dan and a few others that comprise the rock solid core of daily contributors would be a good idea to keeping the board cleaned up. If I remember correctly Kyle stated that he doesn't check in that often. I've sent him notice when we do have "intruders" and it seems to get taken care of but not as quickly as it would if a few of those who are on several times a day had the capability. I vote for a few admins to join with Kyle in the "Volunteer Brigade"

Our off topic forim just got flooded with crap from another new user. This issue needs immediate attention before it migrates into the general and classifieds forums. KYLE WHERE ARE YOU?

On the Bradley GT2 site, Pete had shut down the Tech forum and Chat sections because of virus from posting raders. Our last Bradley GT site was droped because of a virus. I think this site is Kyles third Bradley GT site. I had a site of my own I shut down because spam raders, they could not post on the site but they over loaded the users data base with web links with crap they were trying to sale. There was no easy way to delete them from that data base. I was getting from 15 to 20 spammers per day so I had to shut it down. I would like to reopen if I could find a new web operating system that would block all that crap or at lease easier to delete them. I would like to see a way we as users of the site could vote them off like the Karma item. Lets say with 20 votes of smite from us users who have at lease 300 posting. Instead make it 250 as I have 256. Wyn

I think all we need is two or three moderators with the permission to delete posts and posters who abuse the site with spam. I suspect Kyle could select moderators from among the active, long time members to do this. Gary Hammond,

Hey guys, I have no problem with a few moderators and can get them added now. The problem with this spam is that there is nearly nothing you can do to block it. You can delete a message, and block a member, but since the "member" is not a real person, they just join again. This board used to be better at catching that, but the spam industry works very hard to skirt all the anti spam things a site uses.
Anyway, I'll bump up a couple of the long time top posters which will at least help delete the messages when they do appear.

Long time reader, just wanted to say I do appreciate everyone’s efforts to share your knowledge and experience, it has been a huge help with my project (GT II, completion target spring 2013). Keeping the spammers off of the site is a key to keeping site fun and interesting. One suggestion, can we do anything with the “classifieds” section to keep it current? Can it be set up so postings expire after 90 days? Or ask members to delete posting after item has been sold? Keep up the good work!

I can set up that board to automatically delete posts after a certain date. I did not since the newest posts stay at the top anyway. I thought people may sometimes want to go back to an old post, picture, etc, but it can be done.

We would only want automatic deletions to happen in the "Classifieds" section, the other sections should be kept for future reference. I would rather keep the classified kludge than loose the material in the other sections.
Warmest.....

Agreed, the only thing I would like to see deleted would be old classified and sold items. As I am searching for the last few items to finish my GTII I would like to know what is out there.
