I have read figures that were all over the place on how many GT's and GTII's were produced and even more numbers on how many are still out there and road worthy. Does anyone here have any solid numbers? Just how rare is our breed?
Thanks! Jim

I have 3 of the original GTEs which I am modifying and restoring and I know of 3 others in various stages of operation. Although I had heard that there were only 50-60 original GTEs. 500 - 600 is the number of twoie's that I have heard in everything that I have encountered.

Yeah, I'm sure there are a lot "restoration, modification" projects out there but I find it hard to believe there are more than a couple dozen GT2's actually on the road in the U.S.
Anyone else have an opinion?

I have owned 13 GT2s...of those 13 projects, Only 3 have ever been driven down the road..most were sold after I pulled the parts I needed for the 3 drivers...Of those I sold, I have never heard from anyone that said they had completed their car and were driving it..The estimate of a dozen or so driveable might be a little low, but I would think no more than 30 or 40...Most of the articles I have read indicate that there were only 500 twoie kits produced by Bradley and thousands of GT kits...But all this is just hearsay and my opinion for what it is worth... I have 2 GTs, oone of which I was just driving a few minutes ago,the other still in reconstruction. I missed out on a GT2 about four years back, I offerd the owner 600 since it had been sitting for at least 5 years and was incomplete (missing parts and front 1/2 of floorpans). after four monhs of trying to get it, I gave up and less than a week later it was gone. I found it the next day in the local junkyard, they paid him 150 for it, and would not sell it to me for less than 800. it was only three week before boepickers had takenoff all the parts and bought the car piece by piece, I only ended up with a couple items from it.
So that is one less GT2 that I can confirm not in existane.

I have 2 licensed, registered GT II E's on the road; the newest one was delivered in early 1982, and was the 583rd GT II to be produced, the oldest was the 536th to be produced and shipped in late 1980. Additionally I have 2 bodies, 1 of which will never see the road as a complete car due to the condition it was in when I acquired it. The other may see use as an off-street vehicle. I am working on procuring an ICE GT II for a little more long distance fun.
Thanks, Michael
