Sounds like crashdown is talking about the GT 1 rear lights. They are the round lights typically seen on big rig trailers and can be purchased for $5-25 depending on how fancy the light (LED, Tail/Turn in different colors etc). The GT ll taillights are off of the old yellow school bus, seems to me that is where I have seen similar rear lights for the GT ll.

I bought round LED direct replacements for my GT at Autozone about a year ago. Dont remember the cost but it wasnt bad. Just popped out the old housings and slipped in the new ones. They look the same as the original lights just have LED's and lots less hassle trying to keep them working.
