I have the DMV inspector coming by this week for a final lookover. When I made the appointment he asked what year vehicle I was emulating. Apparently it is needed for the paperwork even though it will be titled as a 2012. My pan is a 69, engine a 73. I need to know the earliest year the GT was offered so as to eliminate as much smog equipment as possible.

I would recomend that you look on Ebay at all of those orderform looks and advertizing, it should have not only dates, but also other valuable information for your use. I had used some of this info to avoid a ticket for no seat belts. When my Bradley was assembled, seatbelts were not yet mandated in vechicals as standard equipment; and The Bradley Car CO. did not include them in the kit. They were either a $30 or $40 additional option that you could add on, and I was able to get out of the ticket. However if anything is done to modify the stock appearence, or performance (either motor, trans, suspention, brakes, you name it) it must have seatbelts installed at that time. UNLESS it is N.O.S. equipment for restoring your classic, then it can also be vintage performance NOS parts... Found this loop hole out when working on a '56 Oldsmobile Super 88. There is nothing that says that reconditioned (or updated) nos parts can't be used. The whole thing can be a bit confusing, but do some quick checking on your state and local laws reguarding classic / antique cars and take notes on your findings for your reference

No I mean 3. Just above Gary Bradley's head on the first page the sentence ends..." "another primary ob-" continued on page 3"".

Actually...smog devices are engine related, so....therefore you are probably bound by the engine year and not the chassis or Bradley kit age.... bobevans

The inspectors came today and affixed the DMV numbers and took pictures. I should be able to get tags later this week.

so do we have a consensus on beginning production/ last production.... and a units per year would be nice to have.
and on the other ......... different states use different methods. in texas on older vehicles(pre vin on dash) they will use the motor number,if the door vin is missing or has been changed. or if the dash vin is damaged/removed the dps issues its own VIN on a decal attached to the cab pillar. but these change per the law changes every year
However, the first seat belt law was a federal law which took effect on January 1, 1968 that required all vehicles (except buses) to be fitted with seat belts in all designated seating positions. 1964 vehicles were required to have "anchorage" locations, but not the belts
also all us vehicles got rear side reflectors in 1968. so If your brad is titled after an inspector may require them.(if you look at all 1968 vehicles they look terrible, due to them being a last minute add on) IMHO
also I know for fact my gt headlights do NOT meet texas height requirements, nor do I have side markers/reflectors. but it PASSES inspection every year.lol so it has as much to do with the law as whos is enforcing it.
