has anyone tried to cover entire floor pans - tunnel with hand laid fiberglass? i have removed body and replaced and lowered pans (per instructions) and raised pan sides with 2" tube to raise body so i was just thinking of trying to preserve all this work and had access to the fiberglass. i had also thought of spray on bed liner but hadn't got a shop interested in doing it yet for me (also more expensive) any input would be appreciated before i make a mistake that maybe you have already seen done wrong another thing i have, is in the original build, the steering column (newer rectangle style) was mounted under the dash not threw it like instructions said to, since the drop and the body raise has now been done do i need to move the column or just leave it since there is no hole in dash now

POR15 is your friend for that app. It will keep the floor in great shape. You can also do the bedliner yourself that works just as well.

Fiberglassing the chassis is a bad idea, IMHO. Rust can still develop under it which leaves you with a mess.
I found that POR is good because it serves also as a primer. Then add bedliner over the top (then soundproof and carpet the interior) and then undercoat the bottom outside.

I second that Mj, just make sure you do cover the POR with a top coat of some sort because it's sensitive to UV.

Are you working on a GT or GT II? I did a 3 inch lift on my GT II. That lead to a massive problem solving effort of having to realign the steering column to the steering box and the chassis connections. Maybe two inches is not as much a big deal as what I went through?

i'm working on a gt the column was installed wrong to start with at least 2" low when built because it was under the dash completely so with the 2" raise it should be where it was planned if i leave it under the dash i was hoping to get it in the dash to give even more room but i wasn't sure about having the wheel too high then? the wiring is trash so starting over anyway and the front bumper-support is gone planning on building a towbar bumper support all in one when i get there to be able to tow behind a motorhome thanks

For the column, I would suggest once you put it back in, find a way to tie it up and hold it at a comfortable height for you in the seat. at this point make a cardboard cut out template to make a bracket to hold it, or you can check out some different mounting kits from companys like flaming river that make steering columns. good luck!
