AMC Pacer or Gremlin. Bring both releases with you as it is rare to have them keyed alike as they are from the rear hatch.

I took my locks to a local locksmith, he called the code in someware in a short time he had the code to grind a new key. I had the locks and keys back the same day. But that is only half the problem, you need a key hole for that wing part. Just setting the lock does not stop the lock button from working. The door locks on the GT2 is another Bradley screw-up. They do not work! I have come up with two designs to make them work. The first design is here the other design requires some welding. This design requires a small sheet of 14 Gauge steel. Cut and file to shape and bend as needed. I did it in paper and clipped it to one of the latches to see if it would work. As you see you need a keyhole for the paddle to hit as locked or pass through unlocked. Before you drill and cut the keyhole get it all mounted and see where the hole is needed for the center pin of the paddle. Good Luck and let us all know how you did. Or if you made any mods. I drew that first lock shield I had in paper to show a little more realistic view of how it should look. Again the placement of the key hole depends on how the shield fits inside the door. Again this is the other drawing of the lock shield for the GT II. This would take a little bit of some fine touch welding to hold the side plates for bracing the key hole. It only uses two of the latch mounting bolts. Wyn

Thanks Wyn I thought being able to turn the lock with the key would simply lock the push button and prevent it from plunging.
Duh! (wishful thinking) .

That is what I thought too. I was glad to get my key but when that lock did not lock up, that was a big let down.

Actually when the latch is set in the correct position the wing simply passes by the latch lever. You may have to trim the lever slightly. When "locked" you can still press the button but since it misses the lever, nothing happens. The bevel of the wing actuates the latch, not the pin part of the wing.

What Dan said ,mine work great and are keyed alike when locked they still plunge but hit nothing ,when unlocked the make contact and open the latch Cheers ,Steve

This is old, but it helped me so back to the top it goes. Took 1 lock eack of the 3 Bradlet GT II doors to local Locksmith her in Knoxville, TN. Cut by code with 3 keys eack. Cost $49.16 with TN sells tax of 9.25%.
