I am currently restoring a GT II my dad built more than 30 years ago. The original seats were garbage but I am having trouble finding new seats that will fit. I have new floor pans from JC Whitney in that have the slider brackets. Any suggestions for seats that good but not a ton of money?

Thanks, Wyn. But I am looking to out entirely new seats in the car, not just new seat covers.

You need EXTREMELY narow and EXTREMELY (emphasis added) low seats to work in a GT or GTII. Most will not have the lay back needed to fit or drive well. Your best bet is to get them recovered. Should you however choose another path then some suggested seats are: 1. Porsche 914 (but they don't recline) 2. Mazda Miata (you will have to recline them and then you will have no head support) 3. Fiero (same issue as Miatas) There are other options. These may fit but you would need to measure: www.gbcarparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=SE-L7RoadsterCub-BlackAnd yes....cut those rails out. They are way to high to use.

Good luck. It would be best to drop the pans a couple inches. Best bet is to recover the originals.

I am 5' 8" and have the rails in my Bradley. I have no problem with head clearance. If I need to get a good look around, I just stick my head out of the top and look I always get a chuckle out of observers when I do that.
