Does anyone know what gas tank works best with the minimal amount of modification for my GT, Thanks Rob. I am trying to get this thing on the road soon.

If you want to switch it out for a different one, I believe you'll need to either pull the motor or unbolt the body and lift that off the frame. If you are willing to go that route, a standard fuelcell (like what you see in JEGS and other parts magizines) would work. Just get your measurements down.
If that is more work than you are looking to do, check the clearance under the frontend, and check out the round fuel tanks, you will want to use a electric fuel pump to push the fuel to the back, and find a place for a fill tube.
It would be safer just to replace the original with a new one if you don't want the original for some reason.

Check out boating supply stores. There was a thread on tanks here once. Not sure its still around. Either way...there is a marine tank that is almost bolt in I believe.

If you are looking for fuel tanks try ebay motors/dunebuggy/vw or www.mooreparts.com/store/ both poly and stainless steel. Or go to J C whitney auto parts.
