Hello everyone! I just bought a 1978 1/2 limited edition Bradley GT off of e-bay that has never been assembled It has the optional sundowner parts. All glass is there as well as all other parts to put this car together. I am missing however the bar the pop up light harware mounts to and the mounts for the bar. I kind of think this will be easy to fix. I also have the original title from Bradley for this car, all packing box's with the original invoices attached. Interior looks brand new, guages never out of the box, wiring harness. I have not seen the back up lights or pins for the engine cover. I have all the strips this car was to have, painted slots still in the box and a new steering wheel and horn kit. And yes I have the assembly manual and wiring manual. I bought a 71 beetle chassis with title and trans but no engine. I got new floor pans to put in and have begun to strip the chassis to nothing so i can sand blast it and paint. This is my wifes annaversary giftand she wants it assembles the way bradley intended it to be done(darn!)We look forward to being members and could use all the advice we can get. Will post picks soon.

I have been looking at engines everywhere. It seems i forgot about jc whitney. I do not think the wife needs a 145hp motor. Myself i would love it! But then again I would be one the people looking for a back glass because it blew off going to fast! passenger side old pan is out and will start tomorrow taking the driver out.

Hi, Red,
Bradley SE is a GT, not a GT. It's the white shell with a baby blue thingypit and two-tone blue exterior trim.
Unless you want to play race car with a totally inappropriate vehicle, a simple 1600 dual port Volkswagen stock engine will move the car decently for daily driving. If want a little more, go up to a 1776 (pistons and cylinders) but no higher. Dual carburetors and Quiet Pack exhast are performance-improving bolt-ons that work, and should not present additional daily-driver problems. I use Kadron carburetors for their simplicity, although others will also work reliably for you. If you have a Freeway Flyer transmission, you have a higher fourth gear, which is ideal for highway driving.
The GT was not shipped with reverse light parts. Any auto parts store will have a selection of clear lights, and the manual does show how to hook everything up. Pretty simple, and the hot pickup should be on the transmission housing -- all in the manual drawings.
Bradley's sub-contracted engine cover pins are of horrible quality, and rust very quickly. Be thankful that they weren't there. Get a good locking set form Whitney or one of the other parts suppliers. then you can lose the ill-fitting piano hinge and make your engine lid removable for easier service in the rear.
Congratulations on a very nice find.
Best of luck with your car, and warmest regards,

Sorry - keystroke ommission. SE is a GT, not a GTII.

"Thingypit"? Apparently the new board has a problem with words that might be considered offensive. The word I normally use for the Bradley interior is what they call the place where a pilot sits in an airplane. It's called a co*kpit, and I guess the board automatically replaced it.
