I was just curious if anyone out there has a pilots license of any kind. I just started training for my sport pilot license this week.

I have a private pilot license. Got too expensive to fly.
When you get into a situation where you don't know which way is up, take your hands and feet off the controls the plane will right itself. The smartist navigational aide you have is in the seat of your pants. Since my son works for the airlines, I fly on his family ticket for $25.00 per trip.

Had 10 weeks in one spot in 1976 when I was still playing rock and roll. Went for the ticket but ran out of time and weather before I did the cross country flights or FAA test.
Cape May County Airport near Wildwood, New Jersey, gave me 42 hours - 22 dual, 20 solo - in a PA28 Cherokee 140, but no ticket. Lost interest after that, partly because I was out on the road again, but mostly because I actually have a lot more fun flying RC airplanes, which I've done for just about forever.
Sport license sounds like the smart way to go for me, too. Simple, all VFR and a lot less craziness. I've asked a few questions at one local airport, but haven't been motivated enough to get off my rear end.
Hope it works great for you.
Typical pilot gags:
If you want to go up, pull back on the stick. If you want to go down, pull back some more.
A pilot's three most useless items: Runway behind you, altitude above you, and the fuel you swore was in the tank!
Happy landings...

hahahaha Jeff. good stuff. I have been around pilots for a long time, but I finally decided it is my time to give it a go. The sport pilot license seemed to fit everything I wanted to do.

I started flying in '95, currently work as a corporate pilot in Montana. I have my ATP, multi engine sea, CFI, CFII, MEI, and few type ratings, but getting my private license back in '95 was by far the most fun.

kitcarguy, You and I are on the same pace. I too started hour 3 this week. Hoping to go into hour four on Friday. Spending a lot of time reading, and having fun looking online for an inexpensive, but neat plane to fly in when I complete my private pilots course...Just bought my first Bradley last saturday in WI. life is good...
