I'm in Thailand and have a GTII body, I need a frame. My problem is VW's here are expensive even for just a junk car. I can't build a frame Thailand requires a serial number from the manufacturer. Does anyone know if other car frame will work and which ones? I can use an existing car frame if I buy it with the title and modify it. I'd appreciate any help. I was even considering going with a front engine setup maybe using a Subaru.
Thanks, John

Nothing will fit without major, major modifications.
With that in mind you can take some measurements and go look for something that has a frame (versus a uni-body) and is close to the wheelbase and track.

How about a Suzuki Samurai? It would be one of few 4x4 Bradleys out there!!

That sounds BAD @$$, a 4x4 Bradley... or you could call it a BAJA BRADLEY.
Question - How are you at welding? If your good at it, you could make your own subframe using whatever is left on the car now as a template, and put in replacement floorpans or make your own. If your not good at welding, check a bodyshop, or a local welding supplier and see if anyone will work out a reasonable price to make one for you.
