My GTII has been in storage for two years. I visited it today to find the left (drivers) side window (not the sliding part) crazed with hundreds of cracks.
Questions - could it be a result of butt-sag combined with sub-zero weather or something else, and is there a source for replacing it?
Thank you in advance, MJ

Tempered glass will do that if hit on the edge or stressed too much or gets a sudden thermal shock on the edge. I once took a tempered VW window out of my trunk and stood it up on the snow packed driveway to close the trunk. The instant it touched the snow it shattered into a billion pieces. When I restored my GT2 I used flat AS1 safety glass in the doors.

Thanks, Dan! I will look into AS1 glass. May as well replace both sides.
By the way, my GTII is also black, and has the front hood cut to open up. It looks like maybe yours is, too. Is it?

Mine had the electric hood but the orig builder only dut the opening for the ice model. When he did this he screwed it all up, resulting in 4 louvers. I had to combine an ice hood with the electric hood to restore the 5th louver. Now my hood is very similar to the ice hood.
When using AS1 you will need to mould the door opening a bit as AS1 is flat. I retained the stock tempered slider window. If AS1 is used for the rear 1/4 windows the glass will need to be held on with silicone or urethane as they will no longer fit the rubber moulding as the bidirectional contour will be lost.
AS1 can be cut/ drilled and shaped. It is 2 layers of glass with a plastic layer inside. When broken it will only crack and the plastic holds it together. Same as a windshield.
