I have noticed a concern over headroom clearance for alot of VW based GT kit cars. Here is an option to consider, that may help to give you some more room inside of the interior of your kit car. EMPI fiberglass layback seats/covers. EMPI part # 3860 fiberglass seats. EMPI part # 3861 covers for the seats. As far as mounting them, I am sure some low profile sliders can be used or simply bolt them directly to your floor pan.

I used them in my Sterling years and years ago.
Not a terrible option but very uncomfortable and terrible head support. They are so laid back that your neck gets tired holding your head vertical. The seat covers fit poorly to.

If you do not wish to adjust the angle of your seat placement. You may opt for some Porsche 914 seats with new covers by mrstitch.com

These are some of the upholstery companies, that offer seat recovering kits. wetokole.com offers neoprene water resistant Porsche 914 seat covers for $235 a pair.

You can usually find Porsche 914 seats on ebay or site:craigslist.org 2011 craigslist Porsche 914 seats. It is sometimes better to use craigslist to find seats close to where you live, which will save you money...as you can go pick them up.

So probably $240 (2 hours each seat?) in labor to recover, plus the cost to ship them to MrStitch and back ($200?) plus the cost of the covers $400, plus the cost of some local beat seats ($150). Getting close to $1000 for a pair of seats. I bet the guy who got his seats for the Brad I built didn't pay that amount...and they have the better head support.

Bradley seats are the way to go. Or try Miata seats. Again cost is a big factor when dealing with Bradleys. The car has a finite worth. Someone needs to get busy and repop the Bradley buckets(SKIP??) and sell them on here for $100 a pair. You could make some nice beer money
