Funny...doing the seats too. Using low back dune buggy seats in mine.

I was going to digitize the seat patterns but I elected to use Geo seats. I still might do it though as I have another car to do. I could have OEM type covers made in our factory but it wouldn't be worthwhile to do only one set. 12 sets maybe. Anyone interested?

It would depend on the cost. Since my seats were "lost" I have to wait to get the new ones this week. Before I gave them to my ex employee to cover I was getting what I would say are ridiculous quotes to have them covered. I mean like $450 without padding and $650 with . FOR 2 SEATS. Maybe that is the going rate around here but seemed unreasonable

I agree that's high. I'll have to check marine vinyl prices since its not a fabric we normally deal with but I'm thinking we could make stock 1 color covers for around $250 shipped. I've seen black, white and tan seats. Were any other colors offered?

I do have a local guy who does some stuff for us at the track and I have an email into him currently. I priced out marine vinyl when I was having the other guy do the seats. The other guys were all labor If it does not pan out when I get the new seats I will let you know

We will be digitizing the seat patterns in the next few days. I'll be able to produce the covers or simply sell a pattern set for those that want to make their own.

Any thoughts on digitizing the gt2 seats.

Unfortunately I don't have a GT2 or a seat cover to digitize. Now if someone wanted to send me an old but complete cover I'd hook them up with patterns gratis.

I think this would be real helpful . From the 2 quotes I got they both rambled that they would have to make a pattern from scratch and it would be very time consuming, blah blah..haha

They are correct. It would be very time consuming especially if an old cover is not available for a pattern. A pattern set should save at least $100-150 off the cost of upholstery. Before I'd release a pattern we'll make a cover and check for proper fit on a seat. This will again save money for the user as it won't have to be tweaked. As long as the seam allowances aren't exceeded covers made from our patterns should fit like a glove.

Patterns were completed today and should be digitized first of next week. I should have them available by mid-week.

The GT1 patterns are completed. A pair of seats will require just under 3 yards of vinyl, based on a 53" width. Most vinyls are 54". The foam padding may also be cut to fit with these patterns. 1 square yard piece of 1/2" foam and 1 piece 12"x 54" of 1inch foam will be required for each seat. The most expensive marine grade vinyl I can find is $31 per yard. Given this and new padding a pair of seats shouldn't cost more than $120 for materials. I'll make the patterns available for $50 delivered with the caviat that those that buy them keep them to themselves. In other words make as many seats as you want for yourself, just don't make copies of the patterns and/or share them.
