Hey everyone,
I have a brand new windshield and I noticed it does not quite fit in the frame. Is this something that is common? I did not think to take a photo but I will in the morning.

Did you get the right Corvette WS? I think they use the convertible not coupe WS. You also need the rubber seal. Don't know if you mount with silicone & rubber trim like the new WS's. By the way, I've seen & heard, that they do not fit perfect around the corners, GTII's the same way. To late for body, nice paint job. Where are you in Orlando, I'm here now till the 26th. Check my old post under skip20 for a mod GTII, now an "GT-SS" Super Skip wantabe! Looking for junk yards today! Already did the U Pull & Pay

May need to find one with a long lip as it will need to replace the stock Corvette rubber

The original windshields used a generic gasket, which unfortunately is no longer being made. I found a Cal-look VW windshield gasket that has nearly the same x-section, but of course was not long enough.
I actually had to extend the bottom lip (my first FG experience) for mine to fit right (it kept coming out at the bottom).
I have heard that the windshield can be installed in a bed of urethane without a gasket, but have not personally done it.
Warmest Regards....

GT2 windshield? Good luck. Aftermarket? Isn't gonna happen, sorry. Do some searches on here, there are some members with gt2 windshields for sale. Other than that, Yep buy a junk gt2 with a good windshield or learn how to work with fiberglass to fit something different..

A Glass shop may have some samples in stock that you could try.

Windstars have the glass held in with urethane. The glass has to be bigger than the opening to be held in this way. Then a trim piece covers the gap.

I just got my new windshield seal in today. Its a perfect molded fit for the GT. I bought it from Eckler's Corvette parts in Titusville, Fl. (800-327-4868). Part no. A2942 $42.99 + shipping.

Boy I wish I had that sort of luck. I bought that last week and it obviously fits the window fine, but it does not fit in the frame. Well maybe it would with a little force but I did not want to crack the windshield. Did yours just slide right in?

The seal I got fits the windshield opening perfectly. Tomorrow I'll put it on the glass and let it be until I finish the carpets later this week. I'd rather install the carpets with the top off. I got the headliner done tonight. I want to wait to install the glass until the top is mounted.

Interesting. I have the same seal and it will not fit in the opening. I wish these photos gave you a better idea of the issue. You can see the bottom of the windshield is not fitting in as well as the top passenger corner.

Let me ask what may be a dumb question. Was the windshield installed when the top was glassed onto the body? If it was not in there to keep the hole spaced right it might be that the opening became distorted.

Not a dumb question at all. The car came to me with the top already glassed and their was a windshield in the car. I just took the old one out and got a new one. Now the windshield did not have a molding. It was just "glued" in

About 5 different company made the body's for Mr. Bradley. As the mold get old or stored they can get distorted. WS were the worst of the area as they were not that will support & the post areas are thin & could distort.easily. Some check that & repair the gaps before painting. This has been on the forum a number of times also.
I was down in Orlando a few weeks ago & would have love to see your car, but you never replied back to me.

Shoot I am sorry skip. I think I have a bit of ADD . I get going on things and forget others I did see your message but completely forget. Anyone in the area is more them welcome to come and see the car. It is at central Florida Racing Complex in South Orlando. I am here every day.
I am about ready to just set the windshield in without the molding and seal it in.

I suspect that your windshield was glued in because the opening was distorted slightly. I'm going to put my top on and loosely attach it before installing the glass so there will be flex. Then I'll cinch it down.

I wonder if I could trim this molding a bit and make it fit?

check the glass shop, they may have rubber from a newer car like the Ford WindStar. It stick onto to the glass & have a over hang lip. Then you glue in the whole thing. The lip comes in different sizes, so check it out. Measure from the edge of the glass to the wides area of the body. You can pick up the sealer 2-3 tubes when you are there also.
