The first indicator is that your doors do not align at the back top. Many have added braces under the rear of the car.

My gt has original equipment sliding seats. As I am only 5 ft 8 in, I can clear the top with ease even with extra padding in the seat. When I really want to see behind me, and the top is off, I sit up straight and look out the top. I get a lot of funny looks doing it. :-)

Because of yellowing, I had to remove my gelcoat and apply a new gelcoat. Just don't get too deep into the fiberglass.
Check out Vertglass Gelcoat restoration system. It worked wonders for me.

I have a GT, but I like my seat racks. Gives me room to slide under the dash when I need too and be able to reach the petals correctly.

I had a good time there in Carlisle. I would be up for it again if we could get a commitment of a bunch of bradleys to go.

I love those padded seats. Wish they were in my Bradley!

I just drove mine to a pie and ice cream social tonight. While topping off the gas, I had two cars with young folk, stop and say how much they liked the car. Also one stopped and has been trying to buy a bradley for years, but owner doesn't want to sell, but lets it sit under a tarp for years. So sad. Glad you have one to get out and show the folks around you what a cool car they are.

That is the body, build number. I think the number you are looking for is under the carpet in the back seat just in front of the transmission access plate. (on the top of the tunnel)

I am getting the GT1 out of storage Sat, giving it a bath, clean the grease off of the chrome and driving it to LaSalle Illinois for the J.C. Whitney car show. Supposed to be a great day.

The Hinckley Dairy Joy cruise night was cancelled last night due to a heavy rain storm that passed thru at the starting time.

I'm no expert by any means, but I blocked the body up, supported the engine with a rolling floor jack and dropped it out the bottom.

I got my bradley out of storage, insurance on it, and new car cover. Yesterday was beautiful weather, so started removing the gel coat. I bought some new coating, as vertglas is not available anymore. I go it all buffed down so that it is smooth but not as clear as I want. (Still looks a little yellow). I don't know whether to use a mechanical buffer or continue by hand. I really don't want to go through the metal flake and have a bare spot!

Syngledad36, You are kind of like me, get excited about a item, need to get it before someone else takes it, and jump the gun without proper investigation. Unless you are a VERY good mechanic, the super beetle is not what you want. What Gary Hammond said. Sorry.

Super beetle frames don't work, shocks in the way.

I had a problem with not being able to shift into 1st or 2nd gear. I happened about 40 miles from home. Did you ever try to start from a full stop in 3ed gear? major clutch slipping! I found the plate on top of the shifter had shifted and wouldn't let the shifter move far enough left for the gears to engage. I loosened the bolts and moved the plate to the left and all was good. Just a thought.
