I am finishing a GT II restoration and luckily have a 2nd parts car. My original has a cracked windshield that can be used but the parts car has a good one. Just curious, has anyone used an alternative windshield and modified the body to make it fit. If you have, would you share the type and what modifications did you have to make. I heard once that a Datsun 280 ZX windshield could be cut down to fit, but didn't get any details. Will have some parts to sell when finished, just need to drop in the new engine and paint.

Will a linear servo actuator work to open the gullwing doors. Wondered if anyone has tried this. Just one of those of the wall ideas that hits me once and a whie.

Has anyone tried to cut a frame for the T-Top out of heavy gauge sheet metal and use a golf cart windshield hindge to open it with? What other option is best? I would like to pop mine open a little for the ventilation and still be able to take it out on nice days. RKT

The new ones maybe street legal. I will have to check to be sure. But, it doesn't hurt to investigate. Also, is there a supplier for the molding that runs between the top and body. What other options are there. It looks like just filling in and painting would lead to cracking.

I have found a company that produces polycarbonate racing windshields. Has this been looked into before?

For all us new to the GT 2 family, concerning the windshield issue. I have a crack in my GT 2's windshield and I am continuing to re-store it with the hope of replaceing it with an original if one comes available. If not, has anyone tried the suggestion of useing a 280ZX windshield that was cut down or modified the GT 2's windshield opening to accept it. I have only heard rumors of this. Has anyone fitted a windshield before to any sort of vehicle? Is there any new technologies that that would apply the way 3D printing has been used to create parts? Does someone out there have any knowledge about glass? I see formed glass all the time. This seems to be a common problem for all of us. Where do we start to find the answer. I'm willing to make some calls or do a little foot work if someone would point a direction.

When we get them out I'll let you know. Give an idea on a fair price for the pair. I also have a rear bumper with the mounting brackets. If some one needs a bumper let me know.

If there aren't any GT 2's windshields available, what is the best substitute. Also, I'm missing the trim between the roof line and the body. What is the best trim to use. Or. do I need to strengthen that area before I just fill it in and paint. I have my car finally in the shop and making progress. If any one has any advise, this is my first restoration. I am updating the tail lights. If anyone needs the originals let me know. They are in good shape.

I have a GT2 on a 74 chassy. Need door lock kit hardware for both doors and hatch lock hardware. Where can I find or what can I substitute with. I have been looking for VW Rabbit locks with know luck.
