I'm getting pretty weary of the VW T1 engines. So, does anyone have an opinion on the Honda GL 6 cylinder motorcycle engine? Does it turn in the right direction? Can it be fit to a VW T1 transmission?

Hi MJ, The VW trans-axle can be set up to turn either direction. They reverse the rotation for mid engine applications, so it should work no matter which direction the Honda turns. I don't know if anyone currently makes an adapter or not, but it surely would be possible to fabricate one. Of course you'll also have to come up with a way to mount the cooling system from the Honda, and figure out an exhaust system as well. And I don't know how the length of the Honda engine compares to the VW. If it's longer, that might create a problem as well. Should be doable though. Gary Hammond,

Would anyone out there be interested in a radical T1 engine? 2165cc, dual 44mm Webers, spit cam cam, nicacil plated machined aluminum cylinders, roller rockers, whole engine balances to perfection?
I an getting too old to appreciate it,
