I found an old J.C Whitney dune buggy frame, and was wondering if anyone had played with them before, and if they could be fairly easily modified to fit under a Bradley. i know the tank and a few other things would have to move, but will the general pan and uprights near the back clear the .. i guess boot section, of the Bradley I as well as the front fit. I am not to familiar with the frame differences between the Manx style and the Bradley, but seeing as they both fit on an original VW i would think they couldn't be too differant.... Maybe I am completely wrong, anyone have any educated guesses? Attachments:

If I stretch the frame, Would it work? I've stretched Fieros for kits before, this couldn't be much harder than that. . . I think. yes/no?

I asked the Fellow for the measurements of the rear structure. It's about 10 inches to long to fit under the rear of the bradley. The real question there is if that is structural, and if the engine would stick out that far, or be mounted from underneath.

It looks like that frame may have been setup for a pickup type dune buggy or maybe a Barris style T body. The engine fits under and inside the rear frame. If it is short it will be 14 1/2" too short. By the time you cut those arcs over the wheels away, the rear frame and the center angled brace the chassis might fold at the torsion tubes without the center hump. Then you also have to use a hydraulic clutch or install your own clutch and accelerator cables and shifter. A stock chassis will be infinately easier and cheaper to utilize.

It is actually set up for Corvair running gear. Motor and Trans. The front end is also Corvair. There was a thread over on DuneBuggyArchives about it. It could easily be lengthened for the Bradley. In fact I bought a Berrien Dune Buggy tube Frame that I was going to do just that. However I ended up selling all the Bradley bits and building the street Buggy I always wanted.

I would almost prefer a 1776 vw, if for nothing else, than the weight gain over corvair power. but excluding time put into it, I can get the frame/engine for about $700, and can't seem to find a vw for that cheap. It comes with a Corvair engine and transmission. Which, aside from the weight being off the rear, could be fun. Is there an effective way to mount the Engine from the underside, allowing me to all but remove the top section? I think I can account room for the angled brace by removing or restructuing what I guess you could call the rear seat of the Bradley. does anybody know anyone who has acomplished anything like that?
