Well gents, after 6 months of replacing EVERYTHING except the fiberglass body, she runs. Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usShe fired right up today and I drove her around my neighborhood about a dozen times. Even drove my neighbors 10 year old son around. She handles like a 45 year old go cart. Im sure all of my steering components must be shot. I had a little trouble with the gearing, Im always chirping the tires from a standstill and bogging her down in 2nd gear. This thing will be a riot around town, but there is NO WAY Ill take her on a highway. Performance wise its about what I expected. My little 1600 motor seemed to hold up fine, other than a nasty push rod seal leak. Im going to try and bubba cure that with a glob of rtv, Im NOT pulling this engine apart any time soon. All in all, its been a hell of a project. I hate to say it, but its time to sell her and move on.....if I keep her, Im just going to keep dropping money into it..... Thanks to everyone here who has helped me out!

i wish myn was that together I busted I disagree on this car. 8*) Every free minute Ive had in the last 6 months has been on this thing. I know Ive said it a dozen times, but EVERYTHING on this car was either broken, rusted or just plain assembled wrong. Id consider keeping her, but my Camaro is my true love and I cant have two toys in the driveway. You should have seen the looks I got just in my neighborhood alone! People just stop and stare. Its awesome.

Hi, Scott,
The Bradley is a riot in town and on the highway. I can't even count the number of Philly to Miami, Atlanta to NY, Boston to Miami and even out to Kansas City trip I've done, all nonstop except for gas. Mileage is up around 635 thousand (!) right now, and still climbing.
I've never understood why the "Bradley" is intimidating and scares owners with road-ability. Its mechanics are 100 percent Volkswagen, and they travel fine over the highway. All you did was add a plastic body that improves aerodynamics and reduces weight. If you're fixed all the mechanics, the rest is just cosmetic.
Anyway, nice job so far. Now finish it - and try the highway.
Regards...

Congrats on getting it running. I am just now starting my 6 month tour of duty on my GT2 to get it in road worthy shape.

Very nice work. I too am glad someone else stuck to it and has it road worthy. Gives me MORE incentive to get on mine! (Weatherman, are you listening?) Anyways, Jeff gives some good advice: Try the highway! -Mike

The highway and interstate is where my GT lives, I drive from Kings Mtn, NC, my home to UNC Charlotte, everyday for college, it's about 2 hours roundtrip, all down I-85, and I love it, everyone waves and blows their horns, and I get over 31 mpg city/hwy combined! I sing the praises of my Gt everywhere, and I have only had her since Jan, but she is already a staple in town, and people love to ask if they can take a picture in her, and I always say yes! The funny thing is, I thought sexy cars would get you a lot of ladies lookin, which is true, but I was shocked at how many guys actually come up and act like kids around the car asking to take pics, its kind of funny, and all the attention is both welcomed and appreciated, I think the Gt's could have and should have been a much more popular car than they were, and could have been produced by a company like VW relatively cheaply, but I guess they weren't looking for a sportscar back then. I love the GT, and if you have her running, thats the hard part, now, just enjoy, and make one change at a time, besides, as all Gt owners will tell you, we love our cars, and love the attention, but you will never get your money out of it if you sell it, all you did was make owning a Gt a lot easier for the next guy. Btw, how much are you asking, lol?
