I really don't want to see this thread die nor do I want to see it go off on tangents that don't do anyone any good. Time is wasting away and I'm willing to bet there are some folks like me, who are tired of waiting for someone to do something more than "vapor" thoughts.
If I had the money to invest in 10 windshields I'd do it, but I don't. I am willing to put money into an escrow account with the intent to get the ball rolling with ProCurve.
I'm sure some of you might see this reply as hostile but it's not intended to be that way. If there are folks that want to do this, can we please actually put together a plan and do something?
Thanks,
Matt

Shortly after the 18th of June, I'll be heading down to Phila. I have a spare original new windshield from my GT2 that I'd be willing to take with me and stop by the ProCurve shop and let them scan it. I believe their charge for that is $500.00 that would be step one. If we get a show of hands to get the ball rolling I'd be happy to do that.

Horen2tas,
Thanks for jumping in on this. I had contacted Skip20 to see if he could do a fiberglass mold but if you're willing to do this that would be great. What do you need from me? I'm willing to jump in and split the $500 with you; hopefully we'll get more folks on board and can equally get somewhat get reimbursed for this cost.
Please let me know how I can help.
Thanks,
Matt

I'd like to see if we could get 25 people to come up with $50. to take it to the mold stage and then we'd be somewhere.
We have about a month to organize this. I like Skip's idea of an escrow fund. Possibly set it up in a way that it's legal and makes the majority feel secure about the project.
I'm not really a good den mother so let's hear from interested parties.

Since the middle of June is fast approaching when I'm heading down to Philly and we still don't have more than a handful of takers, I threw together an ad in TheSamba to see if there's any interest. It's going to be tricky to co-ordinate but I'm willing to give it a shot. Here's the ad: www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1487870

If anything is needed of me, I can help with some $ but it will have to be around the 22nd of June. I check this form usually everyday so pm me.

I'm on the road presently, but there were not enough takers even with the ad in Samba which netted zero results.
I suppose the only hope is to wait some more time to get a network set-up of firm commitments with a way to deposit the cash into a fund that will start the process.
