In my resto work on old military trucks - another hobby - my buddy put together a spreadsheet of common parts on M37 trucks & we add to/update the list as required. My Manx SR has a list of part info available on a Manx website.
Now, the question: Has anyone attempted to put together a list of parts required to assemble/repair a GT II? Hatch struts, headlight lift motor, corner lights, taillights, headlight buckets/trim bezels (look like MGB to me), door latches (I know they're VW), gas door & engine cover latches, weatherstrip part numbers / sources, etc...?
I know from reading an old auto magazine write up on the GT II that they used Rabbit/Ford Pinto-Bobcat hatchback gas struts for the doors / engine lid of the GT II - can anyone corroborate this info? I'll see if I can locate the article in my files & post.
Regards,
Bryan in NC
