I'm following the CD that I purchased from Mr Troy.Having a problem with the starting circuit.I have a generator,a three wire steering column out of a 1969 bug.Big red from starter goes too +side of Amp gauge,- side of amp gauge has green ignition switch wire(battery) too column switch, voltage regulator red with black trace, power too light switch.I have no power getting too the column ignition switch. If I jump the two connections on the Amp gauge
everything works great. But I have it wired as it shows in the manual it does not. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, Sounds like a bad ammeter! Open circuit or internal resistance! When you shunt across it with a wire, you are completing the circuit in place of the ammeter. You can check the continuity of the ammeter ( with the leads disconnected) by using an ohmmeter. Should show 0 ohms across it when out of the circuit. Gary Hammond,
