Interesting thread. I would say that the "Kit Car" industry is not dead, but now very much a "Niche" market. There are still several companies selling the vintage type bodies (Including Devin SS!), usually around $5K give or take a grand. The real issue is that builders today are spoiled, they want to take credit for building the car but not have to do much more than put in a battery and turn the key. They expect actual doors, not just a line molded into the glass, they want a simple bolt-on to the unmodified chassis, and of course it should be a Cobra killer.
I'm still building "Kits" from the frame up and doing my own 'Glass work. I also happen to have the old Tatum Crusader molds. I intend to build at least one, looking at a plywood monocoque chassis and Geo Metro 1.3 DOHC engine. With that engine it will be a screamer! Trick will be keeping the front wheels on the ground without excessive ballast.

steve09: I am a pasted Bradley GT II owner, having build 2 of them from scratch. At one time I considered becoming a “dealer”. I have just found a box of old Bradley Sales materials in excellent shape and I was wondering if it might be worth anything.

r3fab: Tried some Triumph GT-6 seats, about the lowest seats ever made, and still too tall! Quick answer appears to be fabricating seat backs to work with the floor and padding. At only 5'10" this is not an issue I expected.
