Can anyone give me picts or an explanation on how they bolted their seats to the floor? No pan drop. I am 5'8. Did anyone use sliders? Got to do mine and would love ideas.

It was recommended to me that I use sliders. I was planing on using some small flatbar or something under the car for some additional support

Sliders from Speedway are a very good option.

I too thought about putting a support underneath as well....so as in not bolting, per say, to the floor but going "through" the floor and bolting to the support. I bought some sliders...so setting them up on the floor will be the interesting part I think.

This is some of the info for the GT2, which can work for the basic GT. The support angles bolt to the floor aginst the tunnel the thicker part of the floor. My seat would over hang the body flange so the standard support angles would not work, so I made a mount to sit on the body flange and used the body mounting bolts to hold it in place. users.alink.com/aeolus/gt-img/GT2-seat-1.jpg [/img]

Mount the sliders to the floor Shane. The above example is for GT2 seats with mounts on the sides.

I did not have enough space to mount the sliders with my new seats. But I did use flat bar on top and under the pan and thru bolted the seats. They are very solid. Eric A

You can mount the seats anyway you want to in any of the GT’s. At this point in time in my picture you can mount any of the three GT body’s. The only problem is the GT2's seat side over-hange with the GT bodys. If you have the replacement Mexican pan I definitely will not mount to the floor. As nice as the the Mexican pans look in my picture, you cannot mount to them! They are tissue thin, they pop and bang, and probably dent and change shape on hitting some heavy bumps. Not the safest floors in the World. I would have used the fiberglass replacement pans off of the old chassis, but you need some parts of the old pan left to mount them to. I built the new chassis using the Mexican pans, big mistake. The only thing these pans need to hold now is the carpet in place and my feet at the pedals. If I had to mount to the floor, I would have a heavy gauge brackets made like the ones I have shown in my drawing. Wyn

Wyn, Brian, Eric - thanks sooo much. This really opens up ideas. Hopefully I will get the seats in this weekend because of all your help.
