Long answer. It was designed to bolt onto an aircooled VW chassis, Regular beetle not Superbeetle. Have they been put onto other frames/ chassis? Probably. If you want to put the work into it, then yeah I am sure you could put it onto onother chassis. On the old site, there was a post about it and a link to some site where the guy had a fully tubular super sweet custom made chassis that it would bolt onto, but that chassis was super spendy. Someone on here has a bunch of posts about it also, but they are converting it to a front engine that I think is on an S-10 frame. Short answer. I am sure someone has done it, but it aint gonna be easy.

Sterling was orgionaly designed to bolt to the VW chassis, but the new Sterling RX has a really supper new chassis roll bar and all. Maybe you can fit one of them into the Brad. No Butt Sag. Aynone with $20,000 wanta do a Sterling build here on the site www.sterlingsportscars.com/index.htmlWyn

Many years ago when the Sterling first came out, one of the fellows I worked with had built one. It was really done up nice. He had the engine blueprinted, and it ran great. THEN ONE DAY HE DROVE IT THROUGH AN ALLEY AND AT THE END SOME ONE DROVE OVER THE NOSE OF IT. Wyn

I wish I had taken more "before" pics back then, but this should give you an idea of the condition it was in when I first got it.

You could have Dave Barret build you a tube frame. Or buy a Berrien Buggies frame and lengthen it. This is actually how I ended up building a buggy instead of the Bradley. I bought the Berrien Chassis to do this but in the end the Buggy was more appealling to me.

I don't care how impractical the sterling may be for everyday use, That Thing Is Gorgeous! It looks like it is going a hundred just when it is parked. Great job on the rebuild.
