Large sidewalls give the appearance of power, rubber bands with lots of rim look too dainty. Sidewall can be used as an adjustable final drive ratio as well. Why don't dragsters use thin tires. Dan, What graphic program did you use to over lay that wheel? A lot of times I use Snagit 7 by TechSmith! What would really be nifty is a graphic program with a whole assortment of wheel pics. Then when someone wants know what their car will look like with a specific wheel design. Just paste it in. Wyn

If memory serves me when installing AC the rear most 3 louvers get opened for air inlet into the evaporator. Dan, the open Louvers is for the fresh air system not the AC system. I found the instructions in an early set of GT2 plans. Can't find it in Jeff's CD, as the pages are arranged differently. In Jeff's CD it shows a tube going out the bottom of the AC box and mounted in the Chassis head for fresh air in let. In the GT2 Body I have there is a 3/4" by about 24" opening over the AC cover. So mine will draw return air from the passenger compartment. Wyn

I think what you are talking about is the simulated high speed louvers, those are normal for the GT2. On the GT2 they do nothing other than aesthetics looks. Apparently someone has removed the louvers from your car when it was built. On the race cars they are ducted to create a vacuum under the car to keep it on the road. It is actually the outlet of a Fluidic Amplifier. Wyn

What we need is the list of people who want a Windshields.
The $500 is what I figured would be a good and the $1000 is a pit of a stretch. But I would do it to get the spare Windshield.
The only option is to buy another Twoie with a good windshield, and that could run anywhere from $500 to $1500. Someone should put this request on Thesamba!

Thank you for checking on the Windshield Company. What needs to be done now is to find everyone who needs a Windshield who should be willing to spend possibly up to $500 or maybe more for it, and hope it would be abit lower. You will need a known number windshields to ask for a quote on.
I for one would like a spare windshield.
The only problem I see is the picture of the logo. Which may bring up the legal problems of infringement rights.
At looking at their web site I saw they need a Template to make the windshield. I have not used my windshield yet and thought making the template from it and to take it to them. Its about a days drive. But with my health problem I am afraid to move the windshield and try it. when I go to use it I will need two people to move it and install it.
I had debated about making a template for my windshield so if it ever broke I would make a windshield out of plexaglass.

In my running around the Internet I stumbled over this Web site. Has anyone checked with this company for GT II windshield replacements. Bent Glass Design Inc. If anyone does try check for small quantities like 10 to 20 windshields. And please let us know what are our options! www.procurveglass.com/index.htmlWyn

Bradley also had made a Dune Buggy in its early days. They are not pretty, but I would take one. Work up some images and see what you can come up with. Don't make it too complicated. Take the image to a shop that make patches. Maybe they can program it with colors and improve the resolution. Wyn

OK, Here is the story on Bradley GT 2 Windshields. From 5 years ago.
First the Big Bad News “Viracon” sold off ALL their window & windshield Operations.
Viracon sold their Glass operation to PPG Industries and Guardian. PPG Industries took all the high end large production and Guardian got the left-overs. This person did give me the number to Guardian and a contact name.
Name: Guardian Glass Street: 2040 Production Drive Findlay, Oh 45840-5449 Phone: (419) 420-9736
Kevin McMillin 419-209-6332
I called the Guardian number and acutely talked to the contact person, He found that they had the info on the Bradley GT2 windshields but did not know if they had the tooling. He said he would research to see of they had the tooling and if so have sales call back with more information. I had asked him how the windshields would be shipped. He said they can be bulk shipped or individually shipped, but again it all depends on where they are to be shipped. I asked to make sure, if I supplied them with a list of individuals to be individually shipped, and he said yes, but again cost depends on location to be shipped to.
I had received a call back from a gentleman from Guardian and we had a very informative discussion on the production of the GT II windshield. Like most companies today to keep up with the demands for production, they have gone to full robot operations.
First, Guardian does have the tooling for the GT II windshield, but the question comes to legal issues “Who owns the right to the tooling” and there for it products.
I had check on The Bradley trademark to see if it was open, and maybe we apply for it. But someone at Bradley had just reacquired the trademark license.
Bradley trademark Owner (REGISTRANT) Bradley Automotive, Inc. CORPORATION MINNESOTA 6315 Timber Trail Edina MINNESOTA 55439
Someone can try to contact the Bradley Automotive, Inc, and see of they would set up a windshield production or release the tooling so we can produce the windshield needed.
As for a TradeMark, we can have a off the wall new car name entered and a tooling made for the same windshield, problem is more cost. Maybe the only answer.
Second, Guardian usually does a production of 200 to 500 or more of a product. Anything less would require a setup charge of $4000. This goes to programming the robots for the job, a test run and evaluation of the products.
After the setup charge of $4000 is paid any number of windshield can be produced. More windshield made the price would be a little lower. We would need to order 200 windshield at a cost of $50,000. I have seen many GT II on Ebay and Craigslist listed with no windshield or a cracked windshields.
To get 200 windshield will take some heavy investment on someones part or a complete investment of a well formed Car Club. For the ones of us that have good windshield once they are broken or damage our cars are done for. The next time you see a GT II up for sale for $2000 or more you better buy it for the windshield, if it has one.
So the question is what can we do as the Bradley Car club, does anyone have the $50,000 to start the first production for the Bradley GT II windshield or off the wall name? (Setup and products) ($50,000 is my arbitrary number for cost, it may probably be much higher.)
How do we organize all the Bradley GT II owners US wide who need windshields ?

It took me a little time to search for it. This was the water mark from the first Bradley web site. It was a full web page sized and really faint. I think it would look nice above a shirt pocket or larger on the back of a T shirt. Maybe bring some life to it with some colors and clean the detail. Wyn

I need a seat frame to mount to the car. I have the top part that is attached to the seat but need the bottom. Its a 73 bug/ Bradley gt2. This is the very last part i need. Any info on where to get one or if anyone has one will be greatly appreciated. Thanks rizzo The universal sliders that jspbtown suggested should work with no problems. I used the Bradley seat support at the tunnel. I drilled extra holes in those brackets to make it a more gradule angle of the seats. My seats are too wide for the chassis I made. The tunnel is about 1/2" wider. So I made a onepeace seat mount to hold the sliders. Wyn

Here in Ohio, you need to go to the DMV and get a temporary permit to drive the car to One of Two Highway Patrol Inspection stations to have the paper work inspected. That is just to make sure you legally own the car. Then they will issue you a new VIN number. You take that to the DMV to get a new Title issued. If they deam you are not the legal owner they take possession of the car and hold it and at a later date have the car crushed. Wyn bmv.ohio.gov/salvage_inspection.stm

Sounds like you need to find another Shop. What wiring do you have, is it stock GT2? What Steering column do you have? You should be able to get the turn switch if it is a VW column. That is if the column is made to take the dimmer sw and the turn sw. You may need a new steering column, the earlier columns don't have room for the turn signal sw. The power does not go through the hazard light switch. It may use a post as a common point for power, But you have other points to get power for the turn signals. The hazard sws are hard to find. I like your color of paint. Wyn

My GT2 front end is a little low but I think it is from using a king pin torsion assembly. the rear end is a little bit high, I used a IRS rear torsion assembly that was removed from a dune buggy and it may need to be reset one splined down on the torsion bar. Although I do like the rake look of it. I maybe interested in the raised spindles if they are available. I did web search for raised spindles and all I could find was the lower spindles. Questions; Is that a king pin torsion assembly with ball joint suspension arms? A king pin torsion has straight shock arms, and the ball joint torsion has what I would call a cobra head for the upper shock mount. Wyn

To align the contact assemblys pick out a good location, drill a small hole in the door, close the door and latch it, from inside the door, drill through the small hole into the door frame now you have alignment for one end of the contact assembly. Eazy enough. Wyn

I have thought about too. You could run a short grounding strap from one side of the hinge to the other. You know like what we do with the rag joint in the steering system.

I have mounted a video monitor and stereo in the instruments cluster panel and mounted all the gauges in the dash in front of the driver. I am going to expaned PVC plastic sheet material as a bazel for around the monitor and stereo. I have also picked up a 3" video monitor I'll mount on the dash above the steering column. I'll use it for a digital tach and for digital display of hi beam, oil pressure, and any other fault indicators. Wyn

I'm thinking of puting the hinge on the front side. That way the hood latch will mount on the front simulated AC vent. When installing the evaporator unit the conecting hose back to the compressor came out too far to the front of the evap unit so it would not fit, I had to cut a slit in the front of the air box to get the hose and evap unit to fit in the air box. I need to make a cover for that opening. I have seen where some installers of the AC units have put the Condenser unit under the rear cargo shelf of the VWs, so that is where I have place mine. I made a carbonfiber shell for the condenser coil and mounted a Lexis radator fan into the shell. Wyn

Another project to add to the power window project. I'm going to mount remote control mirrors at the front corner of the door window glass, but I need away to attach it to the window corner. I made a cardboard mockup of the adapter I will need. The adapter will mount in behind the fiberglass of the door with 3 screws in the bottom edge and 3 in the top edge. There is a small slot in the door at that location. With a little triming of the edge, this metal adapter will mount and still have room for the glass to mount too. I need some way to paint the glass so the back side of the adapter will not be sean through the glass. How all I need is to get two pices of sheet metal cut and bend to match the cardboard adapter. I think I'll get 3 sheets because I know I'll probably screw the first one up. ;D Wyn

Dan, The window drive is from Electric Life P/n is EL 1000 Super Street Rod Kit for Flat Glass. I'm a little concerned about the current the motors need, so I need a moderate size of wire to connect them with. www.electric-life.com I'll mount bottom to an 'L' bracket. It the top I'll spot weld a small tab and bolt a support arm between the tab and the front of the H channel just below the window sill. Late Monday my Son help me place the GT2 body down on the chassis for the first time. Ran into a big problem none of the bolt holes align up very well. I orgionaly had mounted body to the old 57 chassis with the 1" spacer. When I built the new chassis I used the 1" frame as an alignment guide. We spent about 3 hr using long screwdrivers and 3/8" drift pins and only got 4 bolts in on the drivers side. For the right side I'm going to use 3 drift pins and find the best 3 holes then drill the other holes just enough to ream them to get the bolts in. I was worried about the body aligning up on the butt sag supports, They were the only thing that aligned properly. www.ksus-62.net/Brad/Misc/bs-rr-a.JPG [/img] This will be the last week I can work on the car for a while. Nov 1 I go into the Hospital for bariatric surgery. Doc said not to do anything for 4 to 6 weeks after wards. So I'll wait until Jan to start working again on the car. Wyn
