I'd hate to see how much 1 windshield all by it's lonesome would cost!!!
$1200 just to get started, then add the price of a windshield.
So are we going to start an escrow account anytime soon for "serious buyers" to deposit their money?
Thanks,
Matt

I scoured the archives and didn't see this on any of the topics.
What size car cover is the best for a GT II? Does anyone have one that they would recommend?
Thanks,
Matt

Horen2tas,
Thanks for jumping in on this. I had contacted Skip20 to see if he could do a fiberglass mold but if you're willing to do this that would be great. What do you need from me? I'm willing to jump in and split the $500 with you; hopefully we'll get more folks on board and can equally get somewhat get reimbursed for this cost.
Please let me know how I can help.
Thanks,
Matt

I really don't want to see this thread die nor do I want to see it go off on tangents that don't do anyone any good. Time is wasting away and I'm willing to bet there are some folks like me, who are tired of waiting for someone to do something more than "vapor" thoughts.
If I had the money to invest in 10 windshields I'd do it, but I don't. I am willing to put money into an escrow account with the intent to get the ball rolling with ProCurve.
I'm sure some of you might see this reply as hostile but it's not intended to be that way. If there are folks that want to do this, can we please actually put together a plan and do something?
Thanks,
Matt

Here's what I'm getting from what has been said thus far:
There at least 4 of us (myself included) willing to purchase windshields from ProCurve. I'm sure there are more lurking on the site watching the conversation develop.
If Skip20 would make the fiberglass mold to send in, and we get a solid number of say 10 buyers or more by 1 Sep 13, then we can get a solid estimate from ProCurve. I'm all in and ready to put some money in an escrow account.
This is the first tangible alternate I've seen on this site to a GT II replacement windshield and would rather see this topic stay focused on seeing this prospect continue.
Thanks,
Matt

I'm in for a new one. Maybe even a spare if the price is right. Unfortunately the shipping to WA state is gonna suck!
Thanks, Matt

My Butt Sag device was inherited when I bought the car. It's a metal brace that attaches to the tranny supports with a U brackets. It definitely helps to control the butt sag. When I lifted my body three inches, I added a three inch block to each the ends. Not sure if the picture will post but if you look closely under the electric motor and tranny you can see it. Sorry, I don't have a better pict. 1.bp.blogspot.com/-HSvYGhZRATQ/T2-qIW-tz3I/AAAAAAAAAXA/IsiUNAf8RuI/s1600/Import_006.JPGMatt

Here's another question, how do you take it off? OK, OK, I'm an amateur but I mounted mine upside down.
Without laughing too hard, please type the response. : )

I know a few of you have ventured into the EMPI rear and front disc brake kits. Since they require huge adjustments (those of you thinking you want to do this - please refer to older posts and be forewarned)
I'm hoping someone has found a better replacement brake pad to use. I'm getting a lot of black brake dust on my rims and in the rotors. I'm thinking asbestos???
Thanks,
Matt

I switched to a combination carriage/allen head kind of bolt for both the door windows and rear window. My rear window carriage bolts were so badly rusted I had to cut them and create a standard screw driver slot to replace them. Some broke in the process.
I remember seeing where someone had replaced their door top windows hardware with the old style sunroof hardware, that way you could open the tops without having to take them off. I wonder where they got the hardware from?

Justdoit77,
When I looked into getting my Bradley GT II painted I was shocked at the estimate $6K!!!
The graphics can be replaced easily - there's a guy on this board that did mine - looks great! See classifieds.
Interesting how someone took a GTE and turned it into a GT II, I took a GT II and turned it into a GTE. Go figure!!
Thanks,

Dynav01,
When I rewired my Bradley GT II, I bought a pre-wired kit from EZ wire. Sure I had to cut some wires out but I think it was a lot easier than trying to follow the old VW schematic. What started with was a rat's nest that was ready to catch fire. Ugh! The hardest part was figuring out how to wire to a 196? VW steering column. BTW, if you're looking to replace all lights with LEDs, you'll need to add resistors, you can find a four pack on EBay for cheap.
Thanks,

Mrbigh,
The question of range is always complicated. I have a 25 mile commute with lots of hills and speed limits that are 35 - 50 mph. When I make my commute I drain 60%, on the way home it's 70%. This is the ideal set-up, I don't drain too much to where it eventually damages the batteries. Less drain = more discharges.
What would it be if I were driving on flat level pavement?? I would guess 50 miles, depending on the mph.
Thanks,

Hi Skip20, I have a blog that shows everything. bigredbradley.blogspot.com/Mr. Bigh, Yes, I'm running with a 144V LiFEPO4 100 AH pack. I've had this for about three years now. The pack started off in my Sparrow then was transplanted to my Bradley. I just added a DC to DC converter and am not afraid of hot weather anymore. : )

OK, so maybe 85 degrees wasn't impressive. So today I repeated the test from yesterday in 97 degree heat. The results were the same - no problem. Hey, what can I say....I live in WA state, in the mountains, it just doesn't get inferno hot here like some places. Matt

Just the fact you bought a GT II with a good windshield is a HUGE bonus. The rest looks like a blank slate waiting for your personalization. Good luck and take the advice of Big Bob - celebrate the little victories along the way. That way it doesn't seem overwhelming.

Dealing with a 40+ year old chassis is what seems to be my woes. I don't know about you folks but I get a lot of noise when driving. I know fiberglass cars just tend to be that way. My experience with EMPI has NOT been good, often times the parts just don't fit or have to be modified. I have over 500 miles on my electric GT II. Yes, I get a lot of thumbs up when I drive by and the usual rubbernecking. A few weeks ago, I was driving up a steep hill and the controller blew up! (Basically the brain for an electric car) That left me stranded on a highway near the top of a hill. (Not a good place to be) I had to get the car towed home. What a sad sight. The tow truck driver kept marveling at the car though. A couple weeks later, when I got a new controller, I was back on the road.
Thanks,
Matt

My original speedo never has worked. I, like centralvalleygter, use a Tom Tom to get the mph while I'm driving. A GPS speedo is a great idea, but I'd like to see a more competitive price though since you can buy a Tom Tom for under $100.
A quick glance at Amazon.com showed there are lesser price models out there ($100+), but sometimes you need to buy a sender unit to go with the speedo ($100). The one mentioned above is all inclusive.
