I forgot just how I designed my Gt2 mid engine Subaru Had to pull the fuel tank to redesign it. What a job. Pull the exhaust, cooling fans, rad, coolant overflow, interior engine cover. Think I’ll rework some stuff in there.

I like the rear view mirrors! ... Black, and not the original chrome HELLA 4004 GT mirrors.... [ FOUND on eBAY for $200 ... ] ... SO, WHAT are you using? ... WHERE did they come from? ... ALSO, can you comment on the handle / cover for the BRAKE lever? ... NICE ! ... I have the same mirrors, Surplus at princess auto in Canada. $4 per mirror. I think they are from a snowmobile.

Ok I'll bite. As some of you know mine is rather unconventional. 2.2 Subaru mid engine running the Subaru automatic transmission, 4 wheel power disk brakes. I've had it up to 100 mph a couple of times. It handled perfectly but when your ass is a scant 4 inches above the road it seems like you're doing 200. At 100 it has lots of throttle left. Mathematically it should peak out around 150. I'm not going to be the test pilot to prove it.

Exciting the alt is accomplished by running key on power to your dash mounted idiot light then from the light to the spade terminal on the alternator. When voltage output drops it will turn the light on.

Can someone please post a picture of the original roof glass for a GT2 complete with all seals. Also a shot of the top of the door showing the seals for the top glass. I also need a photo showing what type of seal is used for the lower portion of the doors. Thanks

It also depends on where you want the gas tank. As the back seat is useless as a seat, when mine had the corvair in it I mounted a VW bus tank where the seat would be then built a cover for it. Much safer area of the car to have the tank. See my build New member done saving another gt2. page 3

Did you separate the hot side from the cold? If not you are trying to cool your engine with hot air. Not going to happen. Pictures please

Maybe enlarge the scoops and add more fake vents That's better

Scoops yes but not those ones. You have the talent to make a scoop that fits with the existing opening. Feed the air down into that monster Subie. You will need it to help cool things down.

If you are concerned about the steering shaft use a shorter unit or shorten yours and use 2 u-joints to connect it, placing the bottom of the shaft to the side of the steering box. You can install a slip joint between the 2 u-joints. I get mine from full size Chevy vans. Do not use the flexible rag joint that is normally used on the vw box. This will cause the column to go sideways if you hit too hard. similar to the lower one

If the threads are different simply get an old cable that fits the speedo and swap the nut to your VW cable

Be careful with those chap car ports. They typically last 2 winters. Mine was sagging and starting to split. The turn buckles blew apart. I decided to move my bikes out from under it. Next day it collapsed. Your modified one is now very weak.
